By the end of the Baby Puppy School, your puppy will:

• Develop confidence around new people, puppies, and environments

• Build positive early experiences that reduce fear and anxiety later in life

• Respond to basic cues like their name, sit, and recall

• Learn calm behaviours like settling on a mat

• Be handled more comfortably for vet checks and grooming

• Have a stronger bond and communication with you

As a puppy parent, you’ll learn how to:

• Understand and use positive reinforcement

• Build your puppy’s trust and engagement

• Handle mouthing, toilet training, jumping, and chewing

• Read canine body language and stress signals

• Start basic obedience training using a clicker or marker

• Create a calm and structured home environment for your puppy

• Settling on the mat – teaching puppy to be calm indoors

• Boundaries @ home

• How to reward puppy when it does the correct behaviour

• Puppy’s name recognition

• Teaching ‘Sit’

• Environment enrichment for your puppy – suitable toys

•  Focus exercises such as :’Look’ & ‘Doggie Zen’ so puppy learns to focus on its owner in the presence of distractions

• Talk about ‘Toilet training’

• Go to mat using a hand target or lure

• Supervised puppy play

• Collar touches

• Talk: mouthing & jumping up on people: meeting people politely

• Teaching: Drop or lay down 

• Cooperative care exercises: preparing the puppy for vet visits, the groomer, handling

• Swap toys safely, ‘give it’

• Introduction to ‘Stay’

• Introducing puppy to new surfaces
